Prof Salome Charalambous is the Group Chief Scientific Officer at the Aurum Institute. She is a South African medical doctor with an MSc and PhD in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom. She has been involved in TB and HIV Programme implementation and research since 1998 and has published in the areas of TB case finding, TBHIV integration and HIV Programme management.

She has a specific interest in special populations including PLHIV, TB contacts, miners and prisoners. She has also been involved in policy development as the head of the Secretariat of the National TB Think Tank.
