Registration Information

Please note if you register on-line and apply for a scholarship simultaneously, your scholarship application will automatically be disqualified.

The registration fee covers access to conference plenary meetings and parallel sessions, the opening ceremony and function, symposia and satellite sessions (limited numbers access), exhibitions and a delegate bag with conference documentation i.e. Conference programme.

Registration Fees

- Early registration fee prior to 05 December 2013: R3 900.00 (Including VAT)
- Regular registration fee prior to 29 May 2014: R4 500.00 (Including VAT)
- On-site registration fee from 09 June 2014: R5 100 (Including VAT)


The registration fee excludes all parking, travel, accommodation and meals

Payment Options

A tax invoice will be available to print or email to the relevant person on completion of your registration. The invoice amount should be transferred directly into the conference account stipulated on the invoice. Payments can be made by direct deposit, electronic fund transfer or by credit card. All transfer costs and bank charges will be for the account of the payee. The banking details of the conference account will be displayed on the invoice. Proof of payment must be submitted by email to, quoting your unique reference number, to enable us to trace your payment on our bank statement. The Conference Secretariat cannot confirm a registration without this information.


The registration fee excludes meals and beverages. A variety of fast foods and beverages outlets will be available at multiple service areas in the ICC where participants will be able to purchase snacks, beverages and light meals from approximately R45.00. :

Parking (Own account)
Parking facilities are available at ICC Durban for attendees with own transport. Please note that the following at parking tariffs will be for your own account:

0 - 1 Hour = Free
1 - 2 Hours = R15
2 - 4 Hours = R20
4 - 6 Hours = R25
6 - 8 Hours = R30
8 - 10 Hours = R35
10 + Hours = R50
Lost Ticket = R9

Registration Cancellation Policy

Having submitted the on-line registration form, the applicant accepts responsibility for full payment of the registration fee without prejudice. All cancellations and refund requests must be submitted in writing to the TB Conference Secretariat. Cancellations received on or before 05 December 2013 will incur a 10% administrative fee. No cancellations will be accepted after the 05 December 2013. There is no charge for substitutions prior to the conference, however the request must be submitted in writing, accompanied by written permission from the original registrant. Alternate/replacement registrations are welcome. On-site name changes can be made at a cost of R150-00 per person (Including VAT). An original letter on a letterhead from the person being replaced must be submitted together with a new registration form.

Registration Terms & Conditions

  • Early registration fees are applicable only to those delegates who book and pay prior to 05 December 2013 Should we not receive your payment or proof thereof by 05 December 2013 you will be invoiced for the regular registration fee.
  • Regular registration fees are applicable only to those delegates who book and pay prior to 26 May 2014. Should we not receive your payment or proof thereof by 26 May 2014, you will be invoiced for the on-site registration fee.
  • No refunds will be issued for any cancellations.
  • Onsite replacement of ID tags will be charged R150.00 (Including VAT) administration fee.
  • This agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the law of South Africa and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African Courts in Pretoria.


Scholarship open on 17 September 2013

The organizers of the 4th TB Conference 2014 have created a scholarship program in order to promote the participation of the TB Conference 2014. Anyone can apply for the scholarship program. Priority will be given to those whose participation in the 4th Conference 2014 will enhance their work in their own communities, to those who are able to transfer skills and knowledge acquired at the conference and to those whose abstracts have been selected for presentation at the conference.

Every attempt will be made to assist as many participants as possible to attend the 4th TB Conference 2014 However, the number of scholarships available is limited. Participants are therefore ,strongly encouraged to seek other funding.

Please take note that successfully approved scholarship recipients will only receive a conference registration fee waiver and will have to pay for their own travel , accommodation and meal costs. Due to scholarship applications being assessed independently and on merit, the South African TB Conference cannot guarantee admittance to the scholarship programme.


In the event that any services become unavailable for any reason, the Conference Secretariat, its appointed agents and other sub-contractors will make every effort to supply alternatives of equal standard and value but no responsibility can be accepted for failure to provide the specific services. The Conference Secretariat, any member and/or members of its committee and its appointed agents or either subcontractors, act on the basis that they attend to the arrangements of the Conference for the convenience of the participants. They perform all tasks on condition that the TB Conference Secretariat any member or members of its committee and appointed agents or subcontractors, cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or inconvenience (however arising) experienced by the delegates of the Conference. Speaker comments during the conference are in no way binding on the TB Conference Secretariat.
